Ross MacDougall - President
A visionary leader with the unique ability to recognize technology and business trends long before they attract public attention, Ross is the driving force behind Concertia’s innovative approach to building business and IT solutions. One of Concertia’s founding partners, and the company’s president, Ross has over 25 years of experience consulting for high-tech and IT-aggressive businesses in a variety of industries. As President, he determines Concertia’s strategic direction and has significant impact on the company’s current and ongoing success.
Prior to founding Concertia, Ross held director and senior level consulting positions for several international systems integration companies. Ross has consulted for private and public sector organizations throughout North America and Europe. Throughout his career, he has focused his talents on the prediction and assessment of new and evolving technologies and how these technologies will impact current and potential clients. This strength, combined with his ability to analyze the ways in which people will make new demands on their organizations, has led to continued success in all areas of his career.
Ross is a strong believer and supporter of his community. He is an avid music lover and still finds time to play the saxophone. Ross lives in Halifax with his wife Kim and three children.
Ross holds a BSc in Math and Computer Science.
Randy Hamlyn - VP of Operations
By continuously working on innovative solutions with today's technology, Randy Hamlyn leads Concertia in breaking new technical ground.
As one of Concertia's founding partners, Randy has over 25 years of experience in the IT and telecommunications industries. His focus is on building and maintaining relationships within the telecommunications industry, specifically in the area of communication technologies. Randy's extensive knowledge of emerging information technologies and telecommunications networks, together with his strong technical aptitude, have combined to make him a leader within the wireless consulting area.
Prior to founding Concertia, Randy provided on-site expertise to customers across North America and Europe in the areas of telecommunications, information networks, internet technologies, client/server methodologies, application and technical architecture, and enterprise systems evolution strategies. He has held the positions of chief and lead technical architect for leading wireless software vendors. Through his work at Concertia, Randy continues to deliver telecommunication applications that are being deployed around the world.
Randy served as a member of the Universal Wireless Communication Consortium (UWCC) wireless standards working group. Part of the mandate for this working group was to develop standards for wireless prepaid services.
Randy is also responsible for managing the operations at Concertia.
