Provincial P-12 Student Information System (SIS)
Concertia Technologies Inc. continues to play a lead role in managing the development of a province-wide
enterprise Student Information System (SIS) project for a provincial Department of Education.
This initiative is created in recognition and response to the need to provide an accurate,
integrated and consistent approach for managing Primary to Grade 12 (P-12) student data.
The overall vision for this project is:
To provide a central, province-wide solution that will allow teachers and administrators
to plan, operate, and report on the performance of the public school system, at all levels, in
an efficient and effective manner.
Student data is input for policy and decision-making activities in the areas of program delivery,
student performance tracking, transportation, funding, and school operations. Upwards of $1 Billion
is currently expended annually in the public education system.
Concertia's role to date includes: defining the scope of the project, undertaking a buy versus
build decision analysis, and defining detailed functional requirements. As well, Concertia is
managing the RFP process for the selection of an SIS software vendor. Concertia is proud to
be involved in this strategic initiative for the public education system.
