Campaign 2002
United Way's Annual Giving Campaign
The United Way of Halifax Region has recognized Concertia
Technologies Inc with a Platinum Award for the second year
running. The award is presented to companies that have 100%
employee participation in their annual giving campaign.
Concertia also received the Quantum Leap Award for
2002 for exceeding projected contributions to the fund, with
the final amount reaching 181% of the original goal.
In 2001 Concertia received a special award in the Tech &
Tel Division, a friendly competition between local technology
and telecom companies, and exceeded original projected
contributions for that year as well.
"The United Way has become an important part of our philosophy
of giving back to the region in which we live and work," said
Concertia's President, Ross MacDougall. "The community in the
Halifax Region is better and stronger because of the support
they receive from the United Way, and I'm proud that our
employees are able to help continue that tradition with their
generous contributions and volunteer time."
Concertia gets involved in the local community through employee
volunteer initiatives and events such as the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation's CIBC Run for the Cure, the United Way's Annual Giving Campaign
and the We can handle IT! event at Mount Saint Vincent University.
Concertia also helps support children's sports through Metro Karate's
Annual Concertia Cup.
